Kurdish media reported that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi had telephoned the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Massoud Barzani, for his condolences to the death of his nephew Delvan Barzani last week.

She said that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, telephoned the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, is the first between the two sides since the referendum in the Kurdistan region on the 25 of last September, during which Abbadi, condolences on the death of his nephew Delovan Idris Barzani, Last week at the age of 52 years.

It was the first telephone conversation between Abadi and Barzani since the Kurdistan region held a referendum on independence in September.

She added that Abadi had already offered his condolences to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Nechirvan Barzani, just hours after the death of his twin brother in Arbil last week.
