Al-Arab newspaper in London said in a report published on Monday that the governor of Salah al-Din Ahmed al-Jubouri began using his influence 'big' in order to influence the results of the upcoming elections.
The newspaper said in its report that 'the governor of Salahuddin Ahmed Jubouri, appointed relatives in the Office of the Commission, which oversees all the technical details of the voting process, accusing the governor of using his influence to influence the impact of the results of the vote'.
"Ninewa is facing a different situation. Perhaps half of its population in Mosul, the center of the province, will be deprived of voting because they do not have electoral records."
The paper said that 'because of the incumbents of the position of the governor of local authorities almost absolute, they usually affect the voting trends, and check lists in which they run important results in the elections'.
The governor of Salah al-Din Ahmad al-Jubouri led the most important list in his province, while the governor of Anbar, Mohammed al-Halbusi, leads a list of prominent candidates. "Given the strong ties of local forces to the public, they can ensure the participation of their constituents in the ballot, in return for the expected reluctance of the majority of traditional parties in the Sunni areas, which were devastated by the war, and that their population has experienced a severe displacement to camps scattered in the open," she said.
