BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The Rusafa Criminal Court on Integrity Issues in Baghdad has sentenced 10-year-old son of the head of the Sunni Endowment, Abdul Latif Al-Humim, to two years in prison for corruption cases, Iraqi sources said.
Judicial sources revealed Wednesday that the son of the head of the Sunni Endowment, Abdul Latif Al-Humim, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for "money laundering".
Adding that the ruling also provides for Hamim to pay a fine of 570 thousand dollars for his involvement in the charge of money laundering.
The Al-Rusafa Criminal Court, which deals with integrity issues, condemned Mohamed Abdel Latif Al-Humim and other defendants and their wisdom.
The director of the port of Trebil border with Jordan Colonel Habib Kazim announced last month the arrest of the son of Hammim during his departure, explaining that the detainee is required under Article 444 of the Iraqi Penal Code.
Mohammed al-Humim faces charges of running fake procurement committees in the Sunni Endowment, which is headed by his father, media reports said.
