Dong Prices At Travelex Have Skyrocketed

Not sure how many of you are familiar with a company called Travelex, basically a chain of currency exchanges in airports and malls. For Euros and common stuff they are a ripoff like 15% to 20% margins when most people can use a credit card for nothing or debit card for maybe 3%. 

Anyhow, Travelex sells the Vietnam Dong and it used to be much cheaper than dealers. Back when dealer prices were like $90 per million Dong travelex was selling for like $52. Recently however I was traveling and saw a Travelex and decided to inquire about Dong. They were at $75. The price of Dong hasn't really changed much in the last few months, I'm guessing they realized they were the cheapest guys in town and decided they could up the charges. Granted it's still a few bucks cheaper than dealers but not by much and they dont give a COA or Uncirculated notes so I no longer really see any reason to use them not htat I'm really in the market for much more Dong just thought if I could pick sum up cheap I would.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this.

Today it is around $65.80 per million at Travelex, and yesterday it was around $60 per million.

February 3, the dong closed at 21035/USD. Currently it is trading on the Forex at 21083/USD. Not a skyrocket, as actually, it dropped in value around the 5th of February and has been pretty flat since then. Companies such as Travelex charge what the market will bear. They will factor in their costs, desired profit margin, competitor's prices, supply and demand, etc. Forex will, IMO, more accurately reflect the actual FOREX (Foreign Exchange) rates of the currency.
