Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The Iraqi Islamic Party congratulated the Iraqi journalists on the World Press Freedom Day on Friday.

A statement by the IIP received by IraqiNews.com cited “On this
occasion, we remember the martyrs among the media men who sacrificed
their lives to convey the truth.”

“We call for more support for the media men in the media fields by
granting a safe environment for them and to avoid restricting their
freedom,” the statement concluded.

Nah, looks to me like the soldier is ticked about something. Maybe the reporter caught on film what the dude was doing? The question isn't is the soldier going to hit the media personage, it is WHAT he hit that the personage captured on film.

Makes one wonder as I didn't see any weapon other than the stick. Maybe the soldier hit a dog with the stick and the media personage filmed that and gave him a piece of his mind. "Bad soldier, don't hit doggies."

Seems to me the reported may have jumped that fence to stand on those rocks. Freedom of speech does not mean you get to break the law or enter areas you are not authorized.
No, I don't agree with hitting him with a stick - but I do agree it makes its point to wave it around. Soldier may have been set up as well...

I know I "stew" about it alot!!!

On another note, (flat or sharp to be determined), I really do not think this is in Iraq's hands anymore. I really feel that the culprits who are holding this up are those that have been the "ins" forever and they want to keep us OUT for as long as they can. That being the case, they need to pay us for the long wait. ONLY seems fair. I don't know about you but to me the "pain and suffering part" of this is adding up on an hour by hour basis. Just the thought of an idle mind. When this does hit my mind will too full of itself to be idle.
