Iraq Plunges Into Political Crisis and Communitarianism

The head of the Iraqi Parliament, Osama Al Nujaifi, a Sunni, called on Monday April 29 at the resignation of the government of Shiite Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki and holding early elections. It calls for the formation of a self-made smaller firm that could not participate in the upcoming elections.
The initiative aims “to achieve national reconciliation and to preserve the gains of democracy” and also “to lead the country out of the specter of civil war and sectarian violence,” he said. He also called for an election commission prepares legislative elections before the dissolution of Parliament.
THE FEAR OF SECTARIAN STRIFE
This proposal comes as a wave of violence affecting the country since April 23, leaving more than 230 dead. It began when riot police tried to enter a place of locality Houweijah, west of the city of Kirkuk, where hundreds of demonstrators opposed to the Shiite prime minister observed a sit-in.
