Iraq demands to be out of UN Chapter VII, Nujaifi

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi confirmed today the necessity of UN to assist Iraq to be out of Chapter VII in order to finalize this dossier for good.
 
In a statement of his office, during his reception of UN representative Martin Kopler, both discussed the latest political developments in the country.
 
Kopler expressed happiness fro US forces withdrawal, and hoped to overcome all political disputes as soon as possible and find proper solutions.
 
He stressed the importance of the conference called by President Jalal Talabani, expressing the readiness of UN to provide further assistance and advice to make this conference a success.
 
Speaker Nujaifi confirmed that the conference is part of the solution, not all of it, calling the world organization to assist Iraq in completing democratic processes which were not finalized due to the previous obstacles.
 
He warned that the geo-political status of Iraq will affect world peace in case of continued tensions, so it is important to overcome this grave situation.
