With all of the amazing news of forward progress and reconciliation today, why be so intently focused on the negative news?

More people are killed in Chicago each year than in Iraq. Does that mean we are going to have to RV the USD? I think not.

Thank you Tim...great point. Sporradic sectarian violence has little impact on the big picture. No matter how prosperous the new Iraq will be there are those fanatics that are stuck in the middle ages and refuse to move into the modern world. They view the Western lifestyle with complete disdain and are sworn to fight against it to the death. Iraq will likely never most past this until they reach the prosperity level of several neighboring Arab countries...ALL with very high exchange rates against the dollar, I might add.

I don't think we'll RV the USD, but I do think we'll replace it (although not due to the people killed in Chicago or anywhere else here).

Could be smoke...lots of smoke! I don't think the acts of a few radicals will stop the forward momentum of an entire country. Those fanatics are crazy and will not stop until they themselves are dead. Like Landcareunlimited said, those crazy fanatics despise all things Western and they will attempt anything to keep wealth out of Iraq, but they are few and will lose in the end. I think the GOI understands them better than we do and they are not going to let those idiots ruin what they have worked so long for.
