Who to trust Empty Who to trust

Post by oops Tue Jan 03, 2012 10:33 am

There is an abundance of advice on how to invest after the RV happens.
It is hard to know who to trust, who to believe. One thing has never
failed me. I look at the track record of the person offering advice.
The saying a fool and his money are soon parted and the road to heck is
paved with good intentions are true in this arena.

My advice to
everyone is to look in the archives to see if the person offering advice
was also giving "Intel" about the RV to start with. If they have a
record of calling it when it didn't happen, or even posting others
reports in such a way as to give the impression it had to happen on a
specific day and they even appeared to give their approval of it, I
would advise NOT following their advice on investing.

I am sure
that when this finally does RV every guru around will be trying to take
credit for calling it. Remember even a watch that doesn't run is
correct twice a day (analog only)

Make no mistake. You will only
have this windfall ONCE. If you blow it you will never get it back.
Don't trust those who couldn't even get the RV correct.

That
doesn't mean don't investigate what opportunities they are exposing, by
all means investigate it. BUT, investigate it YOURSELF, don't trust
them to do it for you. If you feel unclear on anything, insist on proof
of claims before investing. If you don't understand the answer you get
keep asking questions. Don't be rushed into an investment. Remember:
IF IT IS A GOOD DEAL TODAY IT WILL STILL BE A GOOD DEAL TOMORROW. IF IT
WILL NOT BE A GOOD DEAL TOMORROW THEN IT CAN'T BE A GOOD DEAL TODAY.

Post by rick152 Tue Jan 03, 2012 11:00 am

oops... Very good statement...ALL info from these sites about investing should be taken as just FOOD FOR THOUGHT,nothing more. If and when you are getting real advise you should be sitting in a real office with proof of any advise and LOOKING the Real person directly in the eye. Credentials in hand. Background checks and all included, Period.

Here we know noone's real name and that is fine but in the real world from POST RV on ALL of this annonimity is GONE. Know exactly who you are talking to and have not a single reservation about them what-so-ever. That alone will more than pay for itself in the long run.

TRUST is one of the biggest words in relationship.

Who to trust Empty Re: Who to trust

Post by doodoo Tue Jan 03, 2012 11:39 am

Thanks for the advice, oops. I am frequently amazed at some of the questions that are asked by "investors" during chats and posts both here and every other dinar site i have visited. Based on some of their questions, I fear that a whole lot of folks will be parted with a whole lot of their money soon after an RV.

My plan, cash out a 25k note (assuming a $1 or more rate), find the best cpa-lawyer in the state, and pay him/her whatever they charge to set up my new found wealth so that it will protect my assets and provide security for my family. Sorry, but I just won't trust my and my heirs future to ANYONE who has been recommended on this or any other Dinar related site.

Just My Humble Opinion, a lot of folks better educate themselves very very fast. GO RV!

Who to trust Empty Re: Who to trust

Post by Kevind53 Tue Jan 03, 2012 12:42 pm

Some very good advise by all in this post. a few points:

1. Set up a financial team. A lawyer does not have expertise everywhere, neither does an investment advisor, or an insurance agent. All have their areas of expertise, all have their strengths and all should be a part of your team. Your lawyer may have people he prefers to work with, but if you know someone you prefer to work with insist on using them.

2.This goes along with the first point ... Find and use people whom YOU trust. Don't pick an advisor because they are Billy-Joe-Bob's uncle's brother's friend, or because you buddy Ralph plays golf with him. Pick someone you trust and feel good working with. Make sure they will be available to answer your questions and I guarantee you there will be questions.

3. Stay clear of brokerage accounts unless you plan on actively tracking and managing your accounts. Typically they have management fees taken out on a regular basis and they can be pretty stiff.

4. On the subject of fees, make sure you fully understand any fees you will be paying, as well as any penalties for early withdrawals.

5. Understand the risks inherent in the investment vehicles you choose. EVERY investment has risks, if someone tries to tell you there are no risks, RUN do not walk to the nearest door. They ALL have some element of risk, the question is how much and what type. Make sure you understand and are comfortable with them.

6. Ensure that you understand the tax implications of the type of investment you have in mind. Some are tax deferred, some are not. Some are tax free, most are not.

7. Know what types of investments your advisor is putting you in and why. Always, always, always ask why, if he or she can not explain it to you so that you are comfortable with the reason, you're answer should probably be "No, find something else." I have seen far to many people with investments that just don't make sense, for example, tax free bonds in a tax deferred account. It just does not make sense.

In summation, do your homework before hand, work with licensed people you are comfortable with and trust, and don't consent to anything until you understand the hows, whys, advantages and disadvantages, last but not least, if it doesn't feel right, and you're not comfortable do nothing until it does.

How about you start with the bank you open an account with - ask them if they have any tax attorneys with onsite CPA's that they could recommend.

They will probably tell you they do not have any to recommend (liability) but CAN tell you how to locate one.

Then - my advice - speak to at least 2 - it is worth your time and any consultation fees to secure your money. Also remember you don't have to like them on a personal level (in my experience the good ones can be complete jerks - but it is because they deal with numbers not people)

Bottome line - who do you trust - NO ONE NO ONE NO ONE

Even AFTER you have picked and made decisions - at least quarterly have a sit down - get copies of documents - make phone calls to verify that your money is where they say it is - VERIFY VERIFY VERIFY.

Last but not least - take a college course in financial management - just one may do you - and really learn - at least the terminology

You guys sure are putting a lot of time into an investment that may or may not pay off. Why not put your money into a managed account with an investment company. They will pay an average of 10%! The best part is you don't have to stay on a web site hoping and hanging on someone's every word!!

Hate to tell you this bdt, but in case you missed this, there seems to be many that are barely paying for food and housing. They do not have the money to put into anything else.

Just need to keep in mind all people are not at the same place.☀

Unfortunately, many banks today have "captive" financial advisors working for them right out of the bank. I have seen them put peoples IRAs into some pretty lame stuff. So don't just take their word for it.

Definitely shop around, find someone you are comfortable with and who will listen to and work with you.

I guess because my money in my managed accounts has been making 14% since I have been watching my dinar make nothing.

Good enough answer for you?

If you were to go back and look at the thread, you would see that I am simply making a point about something that has not, nor do we know if and when it will ever occur. In the words of Bill Shakespeare, "much ado about nothing".

Cannot trust anyone especially these joke guru's. They know nothing excet to spread lies and claim falsehoods that will never happen. If so much money going into dinar autions why is the dinar not at least creeping up. It is not going to be BAM 4000% retun on your money.
