Thanks for the post. It has always been hard for me to read these translated speeches and articles but I did gather enough to know that they want to progress and unite. I did not see any direct wording related to a revaluation of their currency but the mere fact that they have budgeted for all sorts of projects leave the inference that they must change the value of their currency. What we don't know is when...yet.

If you consider that this is a nation an a people just coming out of a 9 year war, and 30+ years of oppression under a dictator and a fanatic it should be clear that these people are a bit confused by the present process, but eager to reclaim their lives and their land. The GOI or Iraq is most probably trying to hold everything together with one hand and pull the people along to a a goal of sanity and hopefully prosperity with the other hand. It will happen, and I dare say, it is happening... progress is being made but Iraq is still, at this moment, a third world country... Revaluing their currency is part of the process of reclaiming their lives.

I'm glad for the people born there that things are hopefully going to get better.

DevaronDLH-very insightful post. I agree completely. There are so many moving parts to this situation. I think sometimes those of us with a vested interest only consider the mechanical and technical aspects of the RV and sometimes fail to consider the very relevant humanistic considerations. They are relevant.
