Having lived over there, I just can't see any 'street vendor' having any part of a $20m deal. If they had that sort of weight, they wouldn't be a street vendor, they'd have a proper office - or they'd more likely be living in another country.

Any Iraqi that already has 20 million US is not out on the street buying almost worthless Dinar...nor would he be a street vendor.
I did not believe that it could get so crazy but this goes way too far.

I dont know about Iraqi businessmen but here in Australia i am very sure there would not be many small business owners (street vendors) that could come up with 20 million to buy dinar or any other currency ... they could not come up with that much cash even using credit... 20 million is an awful lot of credit to SPECULATE with....

If the street venders with all this money wanted to speculate then why wouldn't they just buy millions of dinar from all the Internet brokers selling dinar for $1,100 per million?

re: Street Vendors - it is not uncommon in developing countries for 'street vendor/hawkers' tp approach people with financial/currency/gold/silver and/or precious stones (depending upon the country and natural resources). The actual transactions (exchange of money) is normally done in a business office nearby in a highly secure environment. This has been my own personal experience at least... however, I will pray that this story is true about the soldier's good fortune with the news/rumor of that IQD cash-in. IN the meantime... we wait and look to God to be our source and 'meet all our needs according to His glory in Christ Jesus'. These are exciting days, aren't they?

That would be a rate of $3.51 by my calculations - but the guy did it at cheaper than what it will be? That would put the rate higher than $3.51 - higher than the value when they became sanctioned...hmm..we wait - time will tell.

It was really a high ranking official from one of the 3 letter agencies driving a black suv dressed like a street vendor.

I have no way of knowing whether this is true or not but I do have a brain. If I had to come down on one side or the other, I would have to come down on the side of doubt. So many of the peeps above said my first thought, "street vendor"?

As we say in the south, "I do at least have walking around sense". None of this story sounds reasonable. Phoenix has a phrase for this kind of post. It is called an "emotional overlay". Someone has applied their own emotional overlay on this one and made it into what they wanted it to be in lieu of what it is.

This is obviously a piece of fiction created to start controversy, or simply a last minute pumper trying to generate more business. (1) The soldiers have left Iraq. and (2) a street vender is not going to have 20M USD and the ability to wire it to the soldier's account outside of Iraq account. Heck the banks are in disarray in Iraq much less a street vender with this capability and capital. The BS is so obvious in this story that I think they are just seeing who is foolish enough to believe anything written that says RV!

I do not believe this is the same Eagle has Landed from PTR who is an attorney named John. He earned respect for his perspective on many things but of course butted heads with the PTB there.

This EHL seems way up in the clouds, presenting a story like this is not like the old EHL.

I have seen posts like this coming from "eagle has landed" over the last couple months. I really can't see this being the same "eagle has landed" that use to post on Peoples Dinar. But then again, if he joined forces with PTR, I could easily see him coming out with garbage like this. This has PTR written all over it.

Notice that it said that the street vendor "brokered" the deal. that means that the money did not come from the street vendor but some other source that should have had that kind of money available. It does not say who it was but the "broker" whoever he might be is not the one with the money.

I am not saying that I lend to thinking this actually happened but the thread seems to be missing the point that as the story claims the street vendor "brokered" the deal. It does not say he had that much money to exchange for the 6 mil dinar himself. If there was a remote chance that this actually happend, then I would be interested to know who the street vendor was "brokering" for. The fact that you can get dinar everywhere still makes this story make no sense at all.
