Sorry czinser, but there are only two ways for someone to NOT read your posts:
1. Don't post it
2. There is no #2
IF you can't handle a rebuttal...then just don't post it? Maybe? We're all on the edge here...Nobody wants this any worse than anyone else does..

For all the "patriotic, God n Guns" rhetoric around here, we sure are pretty calm when some one makes up a blatant lie in the name of our soldiers who are finally returning home.
What makes it a lie? Because as the banner on top of this site says, if its not on the CBI, its not done.

Some 'boots on the ground' say nothing has happened. What reactions do they (those posting such) get? It is a good point you raise. It's called a short cut, using something to give credulity to an argument.

Right on.. I don't have a Warka account, but for those of you that do, if there EVER was an "in country" RV, your accounts would immediately be adjusted accordingly. As a matter of fact, this may be exactly how we first hear of the RV, is one of you with Warka seeing the adjustement. Good post.

@ Openmind
Dude... Keep doing what you are doing. I, for one, appreciate your perspective.
What some might consider negativity others consider to be realism.
To attempt to add some additional level of validity to some outrageous post by wrapping it up with the sanctity of those who have served in our military is, in a word, weak. Even further, I agree... It really bothers me when people invoke their prayers and hope for the RV for personal wealth. It just does not seem right... But that is just me.
@ Tenenbaums
You understand, I'm sure, that both of your post in this thread were negative... Right??
Everyone has a right to offer an opinion in a respectful manner. Sometimes, as I am sure you have seen in your time here on OOM, the opinions clash. The mere fact that the various opinions differ does not make one opinion more correct, more positive or even more relevant.
Keep the faith... Go RV!!!

Of course it's untrue, many of us have contacts with contacts in Iraq, and we would have heard.
The silly retort of well if you don't like the intel get your own, we do, real news. And the lovely Lexie posts lots of it here.
The Christmas pressure cooker builds again, as it did last Christmas and I for one hope that everyone has a happy time in spite of the dinar.

I don't know if you realize it but you accused people of invoking their prayers for the RV for personal wealth and that you don't like that. But, you don't know if they were praying for the RV because of the people that they are going to help unless you can actually see into their hearts and only God knows the intentions of their hearts.
One other little point, many people see God as their Father. Now if you saw Him as that how could you think it could be wrong to ask you Father for something that you want/need? It is the Father's good pleasure to give gifts to His children...
Please have a great day and understand this was just for clarification. God is my Father and I'm glad you are in this investment as I am so happy He has shared it with me also... We are all about to be blessed beyond our wildest dreams and so I have found myself thanking Him for the RV from time to time and can't wait to tell some of those that don't have Internet how much they have. That's almost as fun as the RV itself...

That is a much more difficult though to tackle, requires much more 'qualification,' and at this time might be better left to explore more fully later.
In short, however, imo, there are some who not believing the same use religion towards diabolical means. And there are those who truly believe what they speak and fully have the right to do so.

As I am not able to discern the thoughts and intents of another's heart, I tread cautiously with regards to the motivation behing outward demonstrations of faith. Regardless of my personal beliefs of the matter, I do the best I can at respecting another when that soul expresses its sacred heart, the same as I would hope others would treat me.

Re: MotorCityGuy 12-15-11 Soldier cashin Iraq at $3.50 today before leaving ME
I hope Phoenix doesn't mind but I have adopted one of his phrases. He calls it "emotional overlay". This is an excellent way of describing so many of the statements being made.
First, you have to understand that I have held dinars for over 2-1/2 years. I'm not new to the game. I have been reading the chats and forums over this entire period. I'm retired so I have spent a lot of time reading the chats and forums.
"Emotional overlay". What does that mean? You have seen it and I have seen it many, many times. Someone makes a statement in one of the chats. Someone else 20 lines down in the chat "quotes" what was said by the first person. I think to myself, "HUH"? They have applied their own emotional overlay on the first quote and have made it into what they want it to be but no where near what was said.
I see this post and I'm amused. I wonder at what generation was the emotional overlay applied. Then again, maybe no emotional overlay was applied. One thing I have found to be true over my 75 years of existence, there are one heck of a lot of kooks out there. I can easily imagine one of these kooks saying, "watch this thing go viral. Let's see how long it takes to get to all of the chat rooms. Let's make up a story about a soldier getting $3.50 for his dinars".
For those that have been around for a while, you will remember that this story has already been circulated. About six months ago, there was this officer leaving Iraq and made a deposit of his dinars and when his wife in Washington state went to their bank, she found that the dinars had been converted to US dollars at a high rate, I have forgotten the rate.
Who knows why people make these posts? I do think that most grow from innocent applications of emotional overlays. Some are just plain malicious posts by deviant characters trying to cause great consternation among us.
This kind of activity hurts the most vulnerable among us, those that are in marginal or dire financial straits. It gives them false hope time and time again. Some of this people live minute to minute waiting for this RV to bail them out.
I hope that people that posts this type article will use some common sense and think it through before they pass this type information along.

godsfool said, "Religion is a sin....Jesus means "Hail Zeus'....and His Beautiful name is YESHUA!!!

"Religion is a sin" - Religion CAN be sinful, but imo is not necessarily "a sin". Relationship with the living Son of Yhwh is quite different from "religion", thankfully, and where I choose to dwell moment by moment in His Presence, empowered by His Holy Spirit.. to His HOnor and Glory; far superior to man's (sometimes falsely) interpretive "religion"!
"Jesus means "Hail Zeus'"-- first time I've heard this one. "... you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21) SAVior seems to be the implied meaning there. What is your source for meaning of Jesus, godsfool? YESHUA is indeed another beautiful name sometimes Y'hShua, as is Immanuel (God with us), Prince of Peace, ONly-Begotten Son, Firstborn among many, alpha and omega ....

7freemon,
I think only another born again Christian is going to understand "relationship". People see us worshipping God as a religion and it is not as you know. But how do you even begin to understand relationship unless you know and experience your relationship to the Living God and Father through His Son Christ Jesus?
I would like to know what godsfool meant also? Made no sense at all and we know we always need to be on our toes because those that do not share our belief have some really different ideas... Now, different and hard for us to understand may have great meaning to them and that is definately their perogative beause I believe if God doesn not open a persons eyes to understand the truth they never will because they cannot which is why we pray for them and love them through Him...

Wow,
I had to take a second look. I thought I was back on that Dinar Vet site that got real testy there a long while back by all those "realists".
I just have a question. Should we have you "keep it real" individuals with "open minds" filter all the posts first, before they are posted? By doing so we would be able to get your "blessing" to post and not risk the bashing someone would get if they do not? If so, we are truely on our way to Abilene. Or do people feel free to post information they have so that ALL individuals can read and digest so that they can take away from it as they will? If it is the first, this site has become exactly what we were all trying to get away from.
I have never posted information here before, but believe me I do not think I would post anything on here after what I have seen today. There are ways to disagree with a posting that is both professional and civil. What has been demonstrated here today was neither. JMHO.

I vote for filtering....those who wish to filter must submit qualifications to Mods for consideration as a panel member.
Some key criteria:
- professional qualifications/education/profession (perhaps even a CV). If you don't know what a CV is, you probably need not apply.
- years in this investment; total years of investing and investment research.
- brief description of background and justification for panel application. Writing skills should be included as well.
I'm dead serious about this. The madness needs to stop.

Filtering...
I have a list of things rolling through my mind. Instead of sharing, I am sidestepping to another aspect...
I have read through some of these threads today, these are some of the things I saw, paraphrased, of course:
I reread my post before I submit it, often I have to start over.
I saw one of your old posts and reflected on how much you've grown.
Somebody made an insensitive religous statement that was an overreaction, not appropriate in context of the thread, but did not post a diatribe. The responces were from the relogion targeted. They were born out of compassion, asking the basis of such thoughts, sharing their experience of faith in a personal manner, not threatened or threatening.
Comments discussing why people post extravagant intel, discussing things like, "emotional overlay," which necessarily applies to all forms of information dissemination.
Discussions about how individuals use the honor of Service men and women to bolster confidence in their stories and contrasts to this with discussing opposing information from the same.
I could go on, I hope you get my point. We could protect individuals from information, but never themselves. China commented once, an official said, our citizens want us to protect them from objectionable material, that's why our people support censorship. The great firewall of China...
A few hundred to a few thousand is really chump change. The way a person chooses to believe, function, administer her own life, his outlook on the future... those are the things that matter. Why are we hear anyway?
Why are we here anyway? I am talking in the great scheme of things. We are here to experience the material world and learn through various contrasts say some. Others, that we are here to build character. Some, patience. 'Tribulation worketh patience.'
I am not speaking as a mod, just rambling as a fool. Whatever you do, don't listen to me! Listen to your inner voice, but learn to distinguish that from the ego voice. I don't know you know.

Filtering!!?? Why would you want your thoughts and information filtered by someone else? That would be nothing more than a form of censorship! The whole concept of what you wanted to impart could be totally changed to whatever someone else thought was appropriate. Nope, think this is a really bad idea. Peeps just need to be responsible with what they post. Some will some won't, but if the majority will, it will work...

Peppermint Patti- your comments are most appreciated and insightful; thank you for sharing who (and Whose ) you are...
Alchemist- your insight is nearly always multi-faceted and most appreciated.
Regarding "filtering" and criteria for same: Thinking we each have our own filters already inside us, based upon our life journey and belief choices; These seem quite sufficient to me. Why burden some here with another "duty" as "filters"??
Regarding qualifications for same: Just because some have seemingly greater "professional qualifications/education/profession" does not necessarily mean they're any more qualified than anyone else to "filter", if that was desired. Personally, I prefer the free-flow spirit of what's here, giving each individual the freedom to choose to whom and what they accept or deny, as long as it's done with respect within the guidelines of the site, which are reasonable and reflect our Creator's freedom of choice He gives each of us.
What we each choose to listen to, contemplate, take on board, BELIEVE, and act thereon is our own responsibility, no one else's. Consequences of same we also each personally bear responsibility for. No one can choose for another, or presume to know the thoughts and intents of another's heart; only The Almighty is qualified in that realm, thankfully!

I am coming into this late but have a couple of things to share ... First a lesson of sorts .... Yeshua is the Hebrew name we transliterate as Jesus ... I don't know where the Zeus stuff came from but, His full name would have been Yeshua bar Yosef, Jesus (or Joshua) son of Joseph. Yes, that is correct, Yeshua is also Hebrew for Joshua.
As to filtering, we should all be our own filters. We are all adults I think, know what is right, and what is wrong, we know what words heal, and what words tear down, and we all know how to think. We are all on this crazy ride together, and when it comes to the end will celebrate together. So if we just take a few extra moments to think before we hit the send button, and consider "how would I feel if someone spoke to me this way?" everything should come out fine. Yea, sometimes we'll accidentally step on toes, but that is why we have been given the ability to forgive.
Alchy is right, we can never protect people from themselves, but as long as we treat one another with dignity and respect, this can be a safe place for people to share thoughts, ideas, dreams and questions. I know, I know ... dream on, but it can be done, and for those here who are of the Christian faith, it is commanded of us ... I won't go into a teaching here ... not enough room anyway ... but ponder Jesus' answer when the Pharisees asked Him about the greatest commandment. (Matt 22)
