Istanbul / NINA / - Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Lutfi Alwan submitted his resignation from his post after the deterioration of the value of the Turkish lira.

The Turkish Official Gazette published the news of the resignation of Turkish Minister Lutfi Alwan and its acceptance by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the appointment of Nureddin Nebti to succeed the resigned minister.

The Turkish newspapers had published a few days ago a story stating that Minister Lotfi Alwan intends to submit his resignation, but the official sources denied this.

The Turkish lira recorded a new low this morning, reaching 1,340 for every 100 US dollars.

It is noteworthy that Nur al-Din Nebti, who was appointed Minister of Treasury and Finance at dawn today, Thursday, held the position of Deputy Minister of Treasury and holds a doctorate from Kocaeli University in Turkey with a specialization in political science and public administration.
