The Kingdom affirms the stability and sovereignty of Iraq

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed the Kingdom’s firm position towards supporting the efforts of the international coalition against ISIS, based on the Kingdom’s keenness to stabilize Iraq and extend its influence and sovereignty over its entire territory, praising the efforts made by Iraq and its continuous coordination with the International Coalition to eliminate Organization.

Yesterday, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in the ministerial meeting of the international coalition against the terrorist organization ISIS, at a joint invitation by the United States of America and the Republic of Italy, in the Italian capital, Rome.

His Highness affirmed that the Kingdom appreciates the great role played by the international coalition against ISIS, which played a decisive role in eliminating its expansion and spread in Iraq and Syria, and liberating nearly 8 million people from its control in those areas, and said: "Despite these achievements We must not lose sight of the fact that the threat of this organization still exists, which requires everyone to continue efforts and coordination to besiege its spread and eliminate it completely.”

His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom's emphasis on the need to unify efforts, exchange information and effective coordination regarding the disturbing news that is coming from the African continent, and specifically the African Sahel region, regarding the spread of the terrorist organization ISIS in those areas, given the threats this organization and the rest of the terrorist organizations represent to international peace and security.

On the other hand, Prince Faisal bin Farhan participated in the ministerial meeting on Syria at the joint invitation of the United States of America and the Republic of Italy, in the Italian capital, Rome.

At the beginning of his speech during the meeting, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Luigi Di Maio and the United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken for their invitation to this important meeting, which comes as a step that expresses the continued interest in one of the worst international crises, looking forward to putting an end to the suffering The brotherly Syrian people and continued for more than ten years.

His Highness reiterated the Kingdom's affirmation that a political solution is the only solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with International Resolution 2254 and the relevant international resolutions.
