Article: "Outlook upgrade could help push Iraq's economic evolution to its next step"
This is a very positive sign for us all. When this sort of news finally gets to the mainstream media it means that there is a lot of activity behind the scenes gearing up to enter the Iraqi investment market. I particularly liked this paragraph: "It seems logical to conclude that this implies favorable interest in Iraq and that it would likely be followed by foreign direct investment and eventually by equity inflows," Tabaqchali said." This is the "wild west" affect that KAP [Guru Kaperoni] and I have discussed for some time now.
Genuine investors have their eyes and ears open for big opportunities, and this paragraph states clearly that they are ready to jump in as soon as possible.
Now we need action from the IMF to follow through with the transition to a floating currency and entry into Article 8 of the IMF Charter. This will be the key that unlocks the door for most investors.
From that point onward...the Balassa-Samuelson Effect will come into play and there will be significant upward pressure on the value of the dinar.

Balassa-Samuelson Effect .... BS for short.
What these geniuses don't realize is that the increase in exchange rates in growing economies (BS Effect) is caused by inflation, which actually lowers the purchasing power of the currency. In other words, developing economies usually see their exchange rates increase which makes the value go down. (Remember, the exchange rate is the ratio of one currency to another. In Iraq's case the rate is 1182:1, which makes the value about $.00085.) This is what we're seeing in Vietnam. Their economy has tripled in the last decade or so and their currency has consistently lost value. That means that if Iraq's economy begins to grow as they hope it will, the pressure on the value of the dinar will be downward, not upward.
