I bring you much news today.   
 
So many are still on that imaginary world of RV timeframes. Isn’t it time to get off the rollercoaster ride and come back down to earth? Hello! Is anybody home?
 
Remember I keep telling everyone don’t get discouraged wondering where the RV is. Who is telling you the RV should have happened yesterday or will happen today? So we must just look at what Iraq is telling us and nothing else. This is the ONLY good source of information. NO- I do not mean some “secret” sources either. What I mean is hard FACTUAL information you can verify, put your finger on and sink your teeth into. No “maybes” or “possibly” or “in my opinions”. Let just stick to the FACTS….OK?
 
When we all read the article from the CBI in early 2016 telling us the postponement of the “project to delete the zeros” until EARLY 2017, we all were, of course, very disappointed. But at the same time we were glad we finally had another hard timeframe to reach and look forward to.


Then again in mid February 2017, when EARLY 2017 seeming to be almost gone, another article came out, this time from the GOI finance committee, telling us the project was again “postponed” but this time no future date was given telling us when it would resume. They just told us “indefinitely”. Did I not tell everyone my CBI source told me they would keep us all informed along the path of this RV process and so don’t worry? Ye of little faith…lol..lol…
 
So why did they give us this latest news and what does it mean?
 
I see there are way too many sceptics in this investment. Many of you simply do have the steadfast constitution to handle such an investment as this. You are weak in spirit and this is reflected on true convictions in general life’s dealings. Yes – it does show in what you say.
 
Perhaps this investment is simply not for you? Hey - why did you ever buy dinar in the first place? Perhaps it was a mistake in the first place to buy Iraqi dinar? Where you told maybe by someone this was an overnight “sure thing”? It takes a strong person to persevere in this matter of “following the course”. There is always a risk involved in any investment. But I assure you if you take the high road vs the sad- sack road you will be much better off and enjoy the ride ( I do not mean rollercoaster ride) while we wait. It is very exciting and if nothing else, I have learned so much about world politics and earned an education on the middle eastern policies and how these people think. I have also come to realize just how lame the Obama administration really was as, like a hurricane, we are now seeing the aftermath mess left behind. I now know that if this new USA administration does not revert things (and do it quickly) we can kiss the USA goodbye…..
 
So the GOI gave us this latest bad news. Why don’t we listen? Why do we fight reality and try to justify the opposite when we can see it all in black and white in the announcement? Why do we lie to ourselves?
 
Remember this is the GOI not the CBI so the blockage/stoppage was probably from the government of Iraq (GOI) and not the CBI. Can you see how the extension of the timing of this event seems to coincide with the extension of the timing to rid Iraq of ISIS? These events seem to be in parallel.
 
Now connect these last thoughts with the FACT that the CBI itself has told us that the reason for the 2008, 2013 and 2015 postponements was due to SECURITY and STABILITY issues. SECURITY with fighting invaders into Iraqi’s sovereignty and STABILITY meaning political and economic. Now fast forward to the events over the last 18 months. What do you see? Do you think all these reforms and law were for nothing? We even see the IMF stepping in to help with the 3 year SBA (Stand by Agreement) with Iraq. I have tried to keep you updated on this progress. I even forwarded the link to the UN site so you can read the progress for yourselves. Again NO Hype, NO Rumors, just the FACTS.
 
So based on what I just described - are we in a bad position? Can you see how the latest announcement of “postponement indefinitely” is simply this and don’t read into it.
 
The GOI does not have a date when ISIS will be cleared since they planned on the end of 2016 – DID NOT HAPPEN, next they told us a delay of 3 months and we can see now this is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN (but they are trying. Believe me they are trying to meet this target). So now if it was you reporting to the news media, what would you tell them. Come’on you are so smart and brave and all knowing…right? What would you tell them?
 
So it is not easy to predict when Mosul region will be “fully” liberated. Is it? They do not want to string us along and so did not given us another timeframe but rather said“indefinitely” until they can see progress with the liberation of Mosul and get a handle on a new, realistic timeframe to tell us. You do want a realistic timeframe? Okay then we wait and watch for an article telling us their next move. This is all we have now. My personal feeling is they will tell us just as soon as Mosul is liberated and they will adhere to this new timeframe when they do.


I told you this was not going to be easy. I told you many times this is like a game of chess. As a puzzle I think perhaps we figured it out by now. I can see the BIG picture. How about you? Now with PM Abadi’s trip to the USA this week I can’t help but realize how different this Trump administration is going to be for Iraq. I can see the cooperation we need to get their economy rolling forward. What better experts to put in the mix than long time capitalistic gurus from the USA….lol…lol….

The launching of operations in the west side of the city of Mosul, which was announced by Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Sunday, February 19, he said the countdown has begun for the final liberation of the right coast. Optimists believe that the coming days will witness the final elimination of al Daesh in Iraq.
 
Abadi on Sunday, went to the United States on an official visit at the official invitation of US President Donald Trump. Abadi plans to spend time with Trump, administration officials, including Vice President and Foreign Minister and Chairman of the US House of Representatives. He also plans meetings with members of Congress and the Senate. The focus of meetings are to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the security, military, economic and other fields.
 
Iraqi MP Hanan al-Fatlawi on Tuesday stressed and I quote-  "The theme of the investment project already been raised in the former Iraqi government time, which is the so-called payment on credit, which is a good opportunity for Iraq to put forward projects for investment, because it possesses the resources much higher than other countries that live today in the economic situation better resources in Iraq, Iraq is a rich country, and companies can carry out investment, but must create a suitable platform for that. " (Can see now what the economic and financial reforms are all about- “create a suitable platform” for investors to come into Iraq and invest. How do they raise the value of the dinar? Pick-up the economy and realize it’s potential. To do this you need the laws, you need the structure in place and now you need to tell everyone you are ready….come and get it! We are open for business!
 
 Oh – but many of the so called intel “gurus” kept swearing and bashing those who told them the laws are necessary. Really? Of course they are and always were. So Mnt Goat right again…..lol….lol…As always the TRUTH will eventually shake out and you will see it….)

Fraud detection process for hundreds of dedicated smart cards for retirees in the province of Basra
 
(Like I keep telling  you they will continue to keep rolling out the SMART cards to the provinces. They will continue to clean the problems associated with it. This is not done overnight. It will take time and there is a long term plan. They have a rollout schedule they are following. Do they need SMART cards in all provinces prior to an RV? NO- and why would you even ask this question? I can not find one reason why.
 
So why do we follow this news? We want to connect this pieces of the puzzle to see the rest of the BIG picture of the puzzle. This is why we do not overlook this info and why it is important to note. Remember the CBI itself told us they plan to take 2/3 of the large 3 zero notes out of circulation in the “project to delete the zeros”. So when they decrease the hard currency notes then how will Iraq function without money? Oh- can you see now the necessity to move into the 21st century banking practices and use credit, debit cards, online banking, and electronic depositing of pension, salaries and all govt programs. Did I mention this creates more liquidity in the banks meaning more money available to loan out to small businesses to get the economy going. Under the e-dinar, citizens are being FORCED to open bank accounts since the is shortly going to be the ONLY way the govt will disperse govt money to the people. I don’t want to hear any more talk about people mistrusting the banking system as a hold up for the RV. How silly! This problem has been resolved. Billions will flow thru the banks each pay period.
 
Remember too, HCL money is coming shortly after Mosul is cleared. So why would the govt want to give the citizens HCL money now. So they could turn around and give it to ISIS to fight the govt? Instead the govt is strapped and they need the money to fight ISIS. Get it? When ISIS is cleared we can expect to see a full and complete HCL law get passed and move forward. Iraq cannot function properly without a National law governing how they will handle nearly 90% of their revenues. Can’t you see how this has been the problem all along? They need this law in place and fully implemented. )
 
Revealed the Office of the Inspector General at the Ministry of Finance, for the process of rigging hundreds of dedicated smart cards for retirees in the province of Basra. 

The office said in a statement that, through the work of the investigation and ongoing audit, the Office managed and in coordination with the National Pension Commission,detect hundreds of counterfeit smart cards in Basra. (More corruption! Will it ever end?)

The statement pointed to withhold the salaries of those cards exchange and transmit them to the investigative committees and the judiciary through the Integrity Commission
 
Parliamentary economy suggests the discontinuation of the ration system and revert to distribute cash instead.
 
Parliamentary economy and Investment Committee proposed Monday to get off the ration system and distribute cash to citizens rather than ration credits contained on the card.
 
Dulaimi, Committee member in an interview for “trend,” said that the subject import ration credits by the Ministry of Commerce has proved its failure and the citizen do not benefit from it because of the corruption that marred deals a lot of contracts between the Ministry and the suppliers of the food for the card, causing a waste of public funds.
 
The Government was importing rations and most citizens don’t want them being available in local markets at very low prices such as rice and flour, while the state is importing these articles at exorbitant prices, indicating that the card be replaced by money allocations instead and give it to the citizens. This is the perfect solution to eliminate the corrupt file this file. (I could have sworn they told us months ago this food ration program was ending? I guess it was too lucrative for the corrupted officials running the program?)


Iraqi PM Says Trump Administration 'Wants to be More Engaged' in Region
 
WASHINGTON -- Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi told the United States Institute of Peace on Monday that he feels positive about the working relationship with the new White House as well as opportunities for investment in a post-ISIS Iraq. (So here we have it. One of the main reasons for Abadi’s trip to USA. Remember he was invited by Trump not the other way around….You wanted to know what happened while he is in the USA? So here is part of it. The news is beginning to pour out and its all VERY, VERY good. Please read the next 3 articles)
     
Abadi estimated Iraqi forces have so far liberated 1.6 million people from ISIS, and with victory imminent in the last parts of Mosul the "new Iraq" needs to look forward at "stabilization and reconstruction."
     
"I remember two years ago when I took office, many of our military commanders would tell me they feel very uncomfortable at checkpoints when they go to the southern governance, and other areas, because the people would catch them and tell them, 'You let us down, we're not proud of you,'" he said.
     
"Now, Iraqi people are proud of our military, they are proud of our security forces, they see them as a national hero, they represent all Iraqis because our direction to them is to respect people, to respect human rights. For you to fight for the country, you have to win over the people."

Abadi discuss with US Secretary of Commerce to raise obstacles to investment companies
 
{Baghdad} Euphrates News Search Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi during his visit to the United States with US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross enhance trade cooperation between the two countries. (Of course! It’s about time. Thanks to president Trump. I told you this was coming and it is no surprise this is one of the reasons for Abadi’s visit to USA. This such good news I can’t stand it any longer….)
 
The two sides also discussed according to a statement of the Prime Minister's office received by the agency {Euphrates News} a copy of it, "increasing investment by US companies and raising the entry barriers and a number of topics that serve the strengthening of bilateral relations"

{Baghdad} Euphrates News Search Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi {who is visiting Washington now}, with two US firms to develop the electricity sector in Iraq and Iraqi Airways.
 
A statement by the Prime Minister 's Office, received by the agency {Euphrates News}, a copy of it, that Abadi "received at his residence in Washington with a delegation from LG any company, and also discussed the functioning of the projects undertaken by the company in Iraq in the field of the electricity sector for the generation, transmission electric power in order to supplement the national energy system, which will reflect positively on providing citizens with electricity. " 

The statement added, "also received a delegation Abadi Boeing Company, where he was to discuss the development of Iraqi Airways and raise the profile of its efforts , " (Again more news on USA investing in Iraq, WOW! This is just what we want to see at this time. How is Trump going to make America great again? Of course it’s by selling USA services and products what else? I told you……)


Reuters: Trump administration hosting first meeting of anti-ISIS coalition
 
WASHINGTON
Foreign ministers from 68 countries will meet in Washington on Wednesday to agree on the next steps to defeat Islamic State, the first such gathering of the U.S-led military coalition since the election of President Donald Trump in November.
 
The meeting will be hosted by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Trump has vowed to make the fight against Islamic State a priority and directed the Pentagon and other agencies in January to submit a plan for defeating the militant group.  (So now that they had months to submit a plan, it’s time to share your recommended plan and review it. Note how Trump always solicits ideas first and then reviews the ideas before committing to a plan of action?)
 
The militants have been losing ground in both Iraq and Syria, with three separate forces,backed by the United States, Turkey and Russia, advancing on the group's Syrian stronghold of Raqqa.
 
The meeting is the first of the international coalition since Iraqi government forces, backed by the U.S.-led international coalition, retook several Iraqi cities from Islamic State last year and liberated eastern Mosul.
 
While the jihadist group is overwhelmingly outnumbered by Iraqi forces, it has been using suicide car bombs and snipers to defend its remaining strongholds. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, who met with Trump in Washington on Monday, said he had won assurances of more U.S. support in the war against Islamic State.
 
A White House statement after the meeting said both Trump and Abadi agreed that "terrorism cannot be defeated by military might alone," and the two leaders called for deepening commercial ties. (Here it is again – “called for deepening commercial ties”)
 
Discussions on Wednesday will also focus on how to help Mosul rebuild and ways to tackle Islamic State operations in Libya and elsewhere.
 
In Syria, the U.S.-led coalition has been working with an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias. Its current focus is to encircle and ultimately recapture Raqqa - Islamic State's base of operations in Syria.
 
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who is supported by Russia and Iran, has said he saw scope for cooperation with Trump, although he has dismissed the U.S.-backed military campaign against Islamic State in Syria as "only a few raids." (This is all a very good thing. So what the hell was Obama’s policy for Syria anyhow? Note how all the BAD news about the Russians and the Turks seems to have gone away. What has changed with the fight in Syria? The change is this – the battle is not against Assad but against ISIS. Should it ever have been against Assad? Will Trump (has Trump) changed this policy?)

WASHINGTON — If President Trump has a secret plan to defeat the Islamic State,as he promised during the presidential campaign, then his international allies in that fightare hoping to get a glimpse of it on Wednesday.
     
And if Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson hopes to reverse a growing impression of his own inefficacy in government, he will have no better opportunity than this week.
     
Diplomats from around the world are set to gather at the State Department on Wednesday for the Trump administration’s first meeting of the global coalition to defeat the Islamic State. Although such meetings have occurred regularly for years, this is the first since December 2014 in which representatives from all 68 countries of the coalition are expected to attend. (Do you see why Abadi was also invited at this time to Washington DC. Yet another reason, if you are looking for agenda for his visit? Folks his visit is NOT about the RV!)
   
 “Nobody wants to miss this meeting,” said Julianne Smith, a former Defense Department official and deputy national security adviser to former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. “They’re all thinking this would be the opportunity for the administration to let them in on any shift in U.S. policy or strategy.”
 
The conclave is the first major diplomatic event hosted by Mr. Tillerson. And like a debutante at a coming-out party, Mr. Tillerson will face intense scrutiny about his status from a crowd that is expert in gauging power. (I did not send you the entire article. It goes on and on with the same rhetoric. You can find it and read the rest for yourself if desired. But my point is that Trump is trying to create a strong coalition so the USA does not have to fight ISIS alone. I am also trying to make you see that there is a very important meeting going on and some MAJOR decisions on foreign policy will result. The USA has so much to gain if this meeting is successful. Is this about the RV? I can tell you without a shadow of doubt- NO, it is not about the RV!)

So here are some tidbits from my January 2, 2017 newsletter:
 
Yes – but I do not know if these tasks below will in fact hold up the RV or not. My feelings are they will never have a perfect world and many of these tasks will be ongoing for many years to come anyhow even once the project to delete the zeros moves ahead again. It is my feeling they are at the point where they can not move forward with their economic and financial plans since they will need a viable currency to do so.

Here are some of these tasks:
 
-complete fighting ISIS and secure the Iraqi boarders (we have been told --over and over again of a year end 2016 target. Now we recently heard they may need another 3 months. But we know for years to come they will still be dealing with insurgents and cleaning up this mess)
 
-all banks must be per e-dinar mandates (they had a CBI driven deadline of Sept 1st 2016 but many banks did not meet this target)
all provinces must be on the SMART card (every week we hear of yet another province coming being implemented. But remember all these former ISIS regions are still not SMART card ready)
 
-oil prices must rise (it must meet at least their projected budget levels)
a fully seated govt (they will be cleaning up these corrupt politicians for years to come and vacancies will continue to open and need to be filled)
-Diversify their economy (privatize the economy and create more non-governmental jobs. Get the citizens off the govt payrolls)
 
-Bring in the private sector and investors (this will be ongoing forever but was partially kick started by current legislation that allows investors and created a climate that now allows this to take place) 
 
So my feeling is Iraqi economy is now at a cross roads. It will never be the “perfect” set up. The IMF, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization along with a host of global consultants are working with Iraq to bring about the needed changes. Which way will they now go? There is only one way to go and why not? This is UP.
 
Since they prepared Iraq for this economic explosion (or as Abadi has stated and I quote “economic openness”) they must now move to the next step and get fully the global/international stage. What else does “economic openness” mean if not to go international?

You might be laughing now, but as Dave (Phoenix) told you a few years ago, this isn't going to end well for you Ken.

I've read lately that a couple more Dinarians are losing their homes due to foreclosure, but they are still hopeful that the RV will happen in the nick of time.  Guess I don't have a sense of humor, because I just find that sad.....  really sad.
