It was agreed between readers that Benny is whacked out on some good stuff and has no graspp of reality anymore.

With all due respect, Canadians do not wish to join with the United States for political purposes. The views held here are so different than those held in the U.S. that there is no way agreements could ever be achieved. For example, we prefer to have our children go to school to learn, not to be targets for a child who is going to settle his issues with Daddy's guns.

I don't blame you BigR and I totally agree and understand where you are coming from.
The US is certainly NOT a country that any sane gov would or should hook their horse to. Until those that are working behind the scene complete their tasks and make things right that is.

The US has at least 40 Million choices for President, and they ask you to pick Hillary or Donald. How does that make you feel.

Makes me feel like the people haven't learned anything from the last eight years......

BigR it makes me feel like going postal... but I also know that the American people are under the misconception that their vote actually matters in a presidential election. It does not. Seems the vast majority must have been asleep during their constitution lessons that for some reason I absorbed in 6th grade. Henceforth I have seen through the sham since childhood and never have I followed the sheep to the polls. Nor will I. I am very aware that the CEO is pre chosen to pretend to be in charge of the USA Corporation but is not.
They ALL dance to the same puppet strings here. How about up in Canada? Much the same? The Royals control all don't they?
shhhh... here too but it is a big secret.

I have a personal friend who went from teaching to sitting in Parliament (equivalent to your Congress). He told me in a private conversation, that he was told the goals of the party, to which he could add to if there was enough support, but he could vote on bills according to his conscience. He just needed to inform the caucus ahead of time so it was not a blind side and others would have the chance to discuss with him and see who changed their mind. If he won others over to his side, they would change the bill to suit the group. This is how democracy is meant to work. Not who has the best lobby group with the most funds.

You know I love my country and have fought for it on the battlefields and watched my friends die for what they believed in during my 30 years in the military. If my blood vessels were examined closely they would show my Red, White, and Blue blood and the dedication that I have for my country... 

Having said that I have over the years of my life watched our government rot from within from all of the corruption the politicians are exposed to these days.  

My home state is Texas where men fought and died so that Texas could earn their independence from the Mexico tyrannical government.  Foolishly, we as Texans, allowed our State to become a part of the United States of America.  Currently there is a movement going on in Texas to regain our Independence and become our own nation again.  I wholly support this movement and I really feel the possible success of this movement will hinge on the results of this upcoming election.  Our state pays more to the government then we receive in benefits the way of taxes.  We currently have our own gold reserve and the largest refineries in the United States.  We already have a historical right to secession from the US.  And believe me we do know how to enforce our borders when our hands aren't tied by the US bureaucrats.

Tom: I have always been in awe of honor and dedication of the US soldiers, but the conflicts they have been sent into have been self-serving for the political/industrial complex. UK's deceased Princess Diana had one great passion in her life and that was to eliminate land mines from the planet. She managed to get Every country in the world to sign a treaty banning the production of land mines, except one. Now you know, whenever you hear of some child being blown up by a land mine, it was "Made in the U.S.A." The U.S. is not only Number One, but the Only One in land mine production. Really makes you proud to be led by people who put profits before lives. Makes me mad to think my American friends are led by these criminals.

All the more reason for Texas to separate our state from this country....

Actually according to CARE.org, the US is only one of many producers of land mines, Others include: Austria, Belgium, Chile, China, Former Czechoslovakia, Egypt, France, Former East Germany and reunited Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, North and South Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Former Soviet Union, Sweden, UK, USA, Vietnam, & Former Yugoslavia.

In actuality the US has not produced landmines since the 90's does not export them, and has destroyed all of it's long life land mines. They do maintain a stockpile of "smart" mines which are programed to deactivate or self destruct after a set time period.

Next question, Do you know where the only active land mines are placed for defense and monitored by the US since the 1960's???

Not sure, but I would guess the DMZ between N and S Korea ... that is one nasty spot.

Actually it is in Guantanamo Bay Cuba established and maintained ever since Castro took over because Castro had indicated that he would run the US forces out of Cuba... He declared that the 99 year renewable lease made with the previous government was null in void in his governing of the Island Nation.....  Might have been a convincing argument in the world court except unfortunately for him that accepted the first payment from the US after he took over..... Another  interesting point he has been sent a lease payment check every year since and has never cashed one of them... The US will still honor those checks when and if they are ever cashed....

OK, Yea I do remember my stepson saying something about that. He was a CG Airdale and they spent some time down there. I also remember that they had to fly a very precise flight plan to get in and out safely. Never went there myself.
