PREPARATION


1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, except for the vinegar.

2. Transfer the mixture to a Mason jar.

3. Pour in some apple cider vinegar and fill it to the top. It is best if 2/3 of the jar consist of dry ingredients, and fill in the rest with vinegar.

4. Close well and shake.

5. Keep the jar in a cool and dry place for 2 weeks. Shake well several times a day.

6. After 14 days, squeeze well and strain the liquid through a plastic strain. For better results put a gauze over it. Squeeze well so the whole juice comes out.

Use the rest of the dry mixture when cooking.

Your master tonic is ready for use. You do not need to keep the tonic in your fridge. It will last for a long time.

It would be nice if there were some links to actual scientific studies showing this stuff works.  Also, if you are going to fill mason jars 2/3 full of the dry ingredients, you are going to be doing a lot more chopping and grating than called for here.

It's a natural remedy catman you won't find too many scientific links to natural remedies I'm afraid.  The only thing I don't like is the gargling part, I really hate gargling!

Just the raw garlic alone is such a natural home remedy for cures, I have one that you only use minced raw garlic, minced onion, sugar and a little bit of water and simmer for cold. Just stay away from the general public. lol

HA with that remedy yes you would want to steer clear of people LOL! I bet it works tho!

I have to question this solely on the history provided. Much as I love the ingredients, the usage of several in medieval Europe as claimed is questionable at best. Peppers (members of the Capsicum family) are a New World fruit, and were not even brought to Europe until after Columbus' 2nd voyage to the New World. Ginger although well known in Roman times, disappeared from usage until Marco Polo brought it back from the middle east. It was very expensive however and it's usage seems to have been mostly culinary in western culture. This is also true of Turmeric another Asian spice.

While the medicinal properties of all three were well known in their native cultures, one was completely unknown and the others appear to have been used only for culinary purposes among the very rich.

Well whatever you are talking about there Kevin how about trying it and seeing if it works? I for one would MUCH rather try something natural than to shove a heap of chemicals down my neck!

How about because I already consume most of the ingredients on a regular basis as food, or as supplements, but knowing the ingredients in question, unless you are from someplace like Thailand or India, likely comes under the category of "That which does not kill you makes you strong.?"
