Maliki: Syria asked us to deposit money in Iraq and the central bank refused
Baghdad - and babysit - Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on the request of Syria deposit funds in the Central Bank of Iraq.
Maliki said in a televised interview that "the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem during his recent visit to Baghdad, who asked to deposit funds with Iraq," stressing that "the Iraqi Central Bank refused to do so."
Maliki expressed his "fear the unity of Iraq from the current events in Syria," adding that "the qualitative weapon that arming the Syrian opposition began to seep into Iraq"
