The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced its rejection of the government’s appeal to the articles that were amended during discussions of the 2021 budget bill.

An informed government source told Al-Iqtisad News that the government had submitted an appeal with 40 articles in the 2021 budget to the Federal Court.

The Media Department of the House of Representatives said, in a press statement received by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the Finance Committee, headed by Representative Haitham Al-Jubouri and the presence of its members today, held a meeting in which it discussed the appeals submitted by the government to some texts in the Federal General Budget Law for 2021. "

At the meeting, which was held at its headquarters in the presence of the financial advisor to the House of Representatives and the Director General of the Legal Department, the committee discussed “the reasons that prompted the government to challenge some provisions of the budget, as the committee expressed its astonishment at the appeals that would deprive oil-producing provinces such as Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar and Kirkuk from their petrodollar allocations .”

The committee was surprised, according to the statement, by “an appeal in which the government rejects an article that it has added that aims to increase the purchase prices of wheat, barley and rye crops from farmers, stressing that this article was added as fairness to the farmers’ segment and in support of the agricultural sector, explaining that many of the added materials in the budget were an application.” In practice, the ministerial curriculum presented by the government
