Al-Kazemi: Iraq is pursuing a policy of openness to international partners to enhance investment
Shafaq News / Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazimi confirmed, on Thursday, that Iraq is pursuing a policy of openness to all international partners and enhancing opportunities to attract international investments, while announcing the imminent holding of a meeting of the Iraqi-Russian Committee for Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
The Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by Shafaq News, that Al-Kazemi received the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Yuri Borisov and his accompanying delegation, and discussed the international and regional situations, especially the situation in Syria, and Iraq's efforts that are in favor of calm and creating sustainable development that consolidates peace and stability.
He indicated that the two sides discussed joint cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and extremism and the efforts made in this regard, and supporting Iraq in its battle to eliminate the remnants of terrorism.
Al-Kazemi stressed, according to the statement, that Iraq is planning a policy of openness to all international partners and enhancing opportunities to attract international investments, indicating that the opportunity is available for more Russian companies' participation in this field, in a way that supports trade exchange between Iraq and Russia, as well as cooperation in the health field. And the provision of Russian vaccines to confront the Corona pandemic directly from its sources.
The media office said that the two sides discussed the support that the Russian Federation could provide to support the electoral process in Iraq, and the process of providing international observers.
He announced that it was agreed that the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee for Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation would hold its meetings soon.
For its part, the Russian delegation conveyed to Kazemi the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his aspiration to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as conveyed a written message from the President of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin related to strengthening bilateral cooperation ties between Iraq and Russia and opening wider horizons for bilateral partnership.
