Al-Kazemi made a visit at the end of last March, his first visit to Saudi Arabia since taking office on May 7, 2020, at the invitation of the Saudi king, during which he signed 5 cooperation agreements in economic and cultural fields, and the establishment of an Iraqi-Saudi fund, with a capital of 3 billion dollars. .
Saudi Arabia resumed diplomatic relations with Iraq in December 2015, after 25 years of being cut short by the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
After decades of tension, relations began to improve, following a visit to Baghdad on February 25, 2017, by the then Saudi Foreign Minister, Adel Al-Jubeir.
