Iraq uses French companies to develop the telecommunications sector
Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Communications announced, on Friday, the opening of joint cooperation with French companies with the aim of developing the telecommunications sector in the country.
This came during a meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Communications, Arkan Shihab Ahmed Al-Shaibani, head of the economic department at the French embassy, according to a statement by Iraqi Communications received by Shafaq News.
The statement said that the two sides discussed "developing the field of communication, forming an integrated working group with French telecommunications companies, and establishing development projects with major companies specialized in this field."
Al-Shaibani pointed to "the necessity of opening joint cooperation with the major and advanced international companies in the field of modern technology and specialized in the field of the Internet and communications."
He called for "holding a meeting with the companies affiliated to the Ministry of Communications to study all procedures and complete the plans with the Ministries of Planning and Finance."
The head of the economic department at the French embassy also expressed his country's readiness to assist Iraq in the field of communications and information technology.
He added, "We will work on this cooperation and joint work, and from here they invite the specialized French companies operating to invest in Iraq, especially in the field of communications."
