Integrity: Two new sentences imprisonment for the former director of the Iraqi Trade Bank

Mubasher: The Integrity Commission in Iraq announced the issuance of two new judgments, each serving in prison for seven years, against the former General Manager of the Iraqi Trade Bank TBI, on charges of harming public money.
Today, Thursday, Nazaha said that the Rusafa Criminal Court, which is specialized in issues of integrity, issued a seven-year prison sentence against the former Director General of the Iraqi Trade Bank. According to the provisions of Article 340 of the Penal Code, according to the Iraq News Agency, INA.
The authority indicated that the ruling came against the background of the issue of exempting a private company from all benefits resulting from its documentary credit amounting to more than $ 12.840 million.
She confirmed, that the same court and in another case issued a sentence of seven years imprisonment against the former general manager of the Iraqi Trade Bank, over the case of granting banking facilities worth $ 59,762 million to a private company.
The court stated that granting these facilities was contrary to the bank’s own policies and instructions.
The commission added that the Rusafa Criminal Court had reached sufficient conviction to convict the fugitive accused in accordance with the provisions of Article 340 of the Penal Code. It decided to sentence him in absentia to 7 years imprisonment for each of the two cases.
