The Economic Outlook for the Middle East and Central Asia from the International Monetary Fund said that the stimulus packages and accommodative policy have alleviated the effects of the pandemic, and that early vaccination in Gulf countries will restore growth to 2019 levels.

The Fund expects growth in the region to rise by 4% this year, and growth in the Caucasus and Central Asia to 3.7% in 2021, and it also expects the continuation of activity in low-income countries by 4% until 2022.

The fund added that the pandemic raised the need for financing by $ 1.1 trillion for the next two years, and that the region experienced capital flows of $ 490 million.

In its report on the economic outlook for the Middle East and Central Asia, the International Monetary Fund said that withdrawing support from policies would burden the private sector, and could lead to bankruptcy and raise unemployment.

For its part, the Fund indicated AT 2021 is the year of policymaking to accelerate recovery, and that the support provided to the region exceeded $ 17 billion in financing, and financing risks must be mitigated to ensure financial stability.
