Baghdad today - Baghdad Today,
Sunday, a member of Parliament, Mudhar Al-Karawi, revealed the fact that there are Arab economic alliances with Iraq, while he talked about 3 criteria for the success of economic agreements with neighboring countries and the world.
"Iraq is in dire need of an effective implementation of the policy of economic openness with all countries of the world, regional and Arab states, as it is linked with it by significant and important relations, not to mention geographical convergence," Al-Karawi said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today).
And on talking about the existence of economic alliances of Arab countries with Iraq, Al-Karawi pointed out that "these alliances are just ideas, and have not yet reached the stage of actual implementation," stressing that "the policy of closure is a wrong path."
Al-Karawi added, "We support any real governmental steps to build economic alliances with Arab or regional countries, but on the basis of 3 fixed criteria, the first is that these alliances lead to the achievement of the nation's interest, and the second is that they do not have a targeted political dimension, as well as ensure the country's sovereignty according to Common interests".
A member of the House of Representatives pointed out that "Iraq suffers from the problem of changing the policies of successive governments in the economic framework," calling for "the necessity to build a long-term higher economic policy that takes into account the interests of the country and the people, based on the previous three criteria, in contrast to which no economic alliance will succeed." Appreciated.
And recently, political parties and economic experts promised, the recent round of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, a step to revive the country's economy.
The UAE had decided to invest $ 3 billion in Iraq, after the visit of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to the capital, Abu Dhabi.
The Iraqi government also announced the signing of five agreements and memoranda of understanding with Saudi Arabia, while Riyadh announced the establishment of a joint fund with Baghdad, with a capital of $ 3 billion.
