Baghdad: "The Gulf"
The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, confirmed that he supports Syria's return to the Arab League, during his meeting on Saturday in Baghdad with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Al-Kazemi stressed, during the meeting, the importance of the effective presence of the Arab League and the development of its work systems, stressing that Iraq is looking forward to the convening of the next Arab summit.
Al-Kazemi added that Iraq supports initiatives to end the conflict in Yemen and support Lebanon to overcome its difficult circumstances. He also stressed that the Palestinian issue should remain at the top of the priorities.
For his part, Aboul Gheit affirmed the university’s keenness to support Iraq. He also praised the courageous steps taken by the Iraqi government, especially with regard to the path of Iraqi openness to its Arab and regional surroundings.
On the other hand, the Iraqi Prime Minister stressed that terrorism has become a global challenge, referring to the Iraqi contribution to facing this challenge.
In a speech at the International Conference of the Counter-Terrorism Service, he added: "The so-called Tigris State was present during the sweeping torrential operation." He said, "We have killed the second-largest person in the terrorist organization" ISIS "among dozens of senior leaders and hundreds of members of this organization, and we are now facing other types of terrorism, such as controlling borders and border crossings, pursuing the financing of terrorist organizations, controlling fugitive weapons, and preventing foreign intervention.
