The Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, Rick Shannon, revealed that $ 460 million has been allocated for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the city of Mosul.
"Canada has allocated $ 460 million to rebuild and rehabilitate what ISIS terrorist gangs destroyed in the city of Mosul when they took control of the city on the tenth of June 2014," Shannon said in a press conference held in the city of Mosul.
"The Canadian government will participate in the reconstruction of the city of Mosul, because of the great importance of this historical and cultural city," he added.
He pointed out that "Canada has signed contracts for more than one investment project in the city of Mosul in order to revive the investment movement and rebuild tourist and health buildings and others."
Shannon added, "The delegation accompanying him visited the University of Mosul and provided Canadian government support for the reconstruction of more than one site within the university, such as the Central Library, the Great University Theater and the Student Center."
He pointed out that "there is special support for the Fine Arts Museum of the Student Activities Department, with cultural exchange between Canadian universities and the University of Mosul."
