Baghdad / NINA / The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ali Abdul Amir Allawi, discussed with the Australian Ambassador Mrs. Paula Janley

a number of common issues that would enhance economic and financial cooperation ties between the two countries, the contribution of leading Australian companies to the development of various economic sectors in Iraq.

Allawi reiterated, according to a statement by the ministry, his affirmation of the Iraqi government's desire in its endeavors aimed at building bridges of cooperation and partnership with various countries of the world, praising: the Australian government's policy and directions in supporting the economic reform process in Iraq.

For her part, the Australian Ambassador affirmed: To continue efforts aimed at activating joint bilateral cooperation.

And she expressed the Australian government's willingness to provide all necessary forms of support and attribution to the Iraqi people. / End 3
