Baghdad / NINA / The Parliamentary Committee of Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners renewed its threat to boycott the vote on the General Budget Law, due to its violation of the legal procedures and contexts in discussing the proposals submitted by it, and the selective inclusion of paragraphs into the Budget Law.

The committee indicated, to the whole paragraphs that were added to the draft Federal Maronite Law 2021, indicating that it "did not find any addition from its proposals that were sent to the Parliamentary Finance Committee through official letters, as well as the interventions of the members of the Martyrs Committee related to that."

The committee criticized what it described as insisting on the marginalization of the victimized segments of the families of the martyrs, victims and political prisoners and the attempt to violate their rights guaranteed by the constitution and the laws in force, indicating: “This was done despite the fact that the Finance Committee responded by adding paragraphs in the Budget Law for different segments of our people, which we confirm "Their entitlement and granting them their rights by including them in legal texts in the budget law, for their entitlement to those texts."

The Martyrs Committee called on the Parliamentary Finance Committee to include the paragraphs pertaining to the families of martyrs, prisoners, detainees, detainees, political dismissals, victims of terrorism and all those affected covered by transitional justice laws. Paragraphs to the budget law, which are almost understood by the apparent intent to deprive these segments of their legal rights. / End 5
