The Iraqi Private Banks Association announced that private banks grant housing loans to citizens worth 100 million dinars, with a diminishing annual interest of 4%.

The executive director of the Iraqi Private Banks Association, Ali Tariq, said in a press statement received by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "private banks grant citizens, housing loans of 100 million dinars with a decreasing interest of 4% within the one trillion initiative launched by the Central Bank of Iraq." To that "the citizen has the right to take the highest amount, which is 100 million dinars or less, according to his need, in addition to that the interest should not exceed the 4% diminishing."

He noted that "the employee has the right to buy real estate in residential neighborhoods or residential investment complexes, while the non-employee has one option, which is to buy the property in residential investment complexes," noting that "the housing complex loan requires that there be an agreement between the bank and the residential complex."

Tariq pointed out that "the interest is calculated for the date of repayment of the loan and it is not cut off, stressing that the initiative will contribute to solving the housing crisis in the country."
