Mubasher: Bishr Al-Khasawneh, the Jordanian Prime Minister, stressed the importance of working to accelerate the practical steps of the strategic projects to be implemented between Jordan and Iraq, so that their positive effects will be felt by the citizens and the concerned sectors in the two countries.

The Prime Minister, upon receiving the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz, and in the presence of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Ali and the Iraqi ambassador to Amman Haider Al-Athari, indicated that the two countries pay great attention to the implementation of the two projects of the economic city on the borders and the extension of the Iraqi oil pipeline, According to the council statement.

The Prime Minister stressed the necessity of taking the necessary measures to start the immediate and on-the-ground implementation of the economic city intended to be established on the borders between Jordan and Iraq, revitalizing the movement of transport, the flow of goods and commodities, and establishing joint investments.

Al-Khasawneh stressed the importance of the project to extend the oil pipeline from Basra to Aqaba and then to the Arab Republic of Egypt, which provides an export window for Iraq, provides Jordan with part of its oil needs, and establish logistical areas and petrochemical industries in the three countries.

Al-Khasawneh stressed the leaders of the three countries' interest in the Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi strategic cooperation mechanism that expands the areas of economic and commercial cooperation between the three countries and achieves integration between them in the service of their peoples and the common Arab interests, pointing out that the rooting of the tripartite cooperation mechanism is a fundamental and strategic issue for the three countries and an entry point for broader cooperation with Arab countries. .

The Prime Minister directed the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply to visit Baghdad in the coming days, heading a delegation from the private sector, to discuss opportunities and areas of joint cooperation, accelerate the pace of work and achievement, and overcome any obstacles facing the intra-trade movement.

For his part, the Minister of Industry affirmed the Iraqi side’s interest in establishing joint and strategic projects between Iraq and Jordan, in a way that would contribute to enhancing trade and investment cooperation between them and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

He pointed out that a large number of government factories in Iraq are being offered for investment by the private sector, stressing that Iraq welcomes the Jordanian private sector to invest in them.
