Parliamentary Finance: flexibility regarding the region’s share and voting on the budget next week

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee expected next week to witness the vote on the draft federal budget law for the year 2021, confirming the continuation of discussing the articles of the draft law.

Committee member Shirwan Mirza said in a press statement, "Next week will witness the vote on the draft federal budget law for 2021 after the completion of discussion of most of the budget articles."

He added, "There are some simple matters that the Finance Committee will complete in addition to the issue of the Kurdistan region's share of the budget," noting that "the next few days will witness the decision of the region’s share."

Mirza explained, "There is flexibility from the political parties towards the issue of the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget, and I envision that there will be a joint agreement during the coming days to resolve it."

The negotiating delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government, headed by Qubad Talabani, Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, made several visits to Baghdad and held a series of meetings with officials in the federal government and Parliament to discuss the region's share of the federal budget for 2021.
