The booklet aims to enhance youth awareness of the dangers of money laundering

In light of its strategy for the period (2020-2025), the Arab Monetary Fund seeks to weave and strengthen the bonds of cooperation and communication with all concerned parties and groups in the member states, with the aim of achieving the goals for which the fund was established, including the dissemination of economic and financial experience and knowledge. In this context, the Fund considered the importance of issuing a series of introductory booklets with the aim of contributing to spreading knowledge among the young age group and enabling them to understand the basics of a number of economic and financial issues.

The series of booklets targets young age groups in the Arab world that are not specialized in economic and financial affairs in Arab countries, and generally addresses the Arab citizen with the aim of helping him to become familiar with the basics and various aspects related to some important issues such as financial inclusion, fundamentals of finance, modern financial technologies, artificial intelligence, and currencies Digital, and other priority economic and financial issues. Through these booklets, the fund hopes to contribute to enhancing the role of young people in dealing with issues and developments around them, with knowledge and expertise, in a way that leads them to contribute effectively to the realization of the future visions of Arab countries.

In this context, the Arab Monetary Fund has issued the ninth issue of its "Introductory Series" that aims to enhance knowledge of money laundering and related risks. The booklet sheds light on the concept of money laundering in a simple way, its stages, and the reasons for its spread. The handbook introduces economic, financial, political and social risks. It also provides an introduction to the efforts of Arab countries in combating this crime, and the societal responsibility in this regard.

The issuance of this booklet comes in recognition of the Arab Monetary Fund's awareness of the importance of spreading awareness among groups of society, especially the youth group, based on its vision (2040), which takes into account the focus on meeting the needs of Arab countries to deal with the developments and challenges they face and support reform efforts, and the importance of combating The crime of money laundering that contributes to promoting economic development in the Arab countries.

It is noteworthy that the Arab Monetary Fund is an Arab financial institution, established in 1976, with 22 member states. The fund aims to lay the monetary foundations for Arab economic integration and to advance economic development in all Arab countries.
