[rtl]Baghdad Today - Baghdad[/rtl]
[rtl]Aqeel al-Rudaini, the leader of the victory coalition, commented on Sunday (1-24-2021) about the concerns of coalition leader Haider al-Abadi about the term of the new US president, Joe Biden, while he compared the latter with Donald Trump's reign of the United States of America.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Rudaini said in an interview with (Baghdad Today), “Biden was a deputy to Obama, the former US president, and everyone is aware of the violations that struck the Arab world at the time, including Iraq through ISIS, and there were hidden hands working to strike the Arab world in depth under Obama’s rule. And everyone knows the size of the losses and blood.[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "Trump came and showed America's (shameless) face, despite his many violations, but no blood was shed, as happened in the era of Obama, who pushed the Arab world, especially the Gulf, as a shield to protect his country's interests, while Trump confronted Iran directly, imposed sanctions, and left the nuclear deal."[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Rudaini pointed out that "the fears of the head of his coalition, Haider al-Abadi, from the Biden government, stem from the possibility of returning to the same policy pursued by Obama in the Middle East by confronting Iran through other countries, and this is more dangerous for Iraq and the Arab world."[/rtl]
[rtl]He continued, "The solutions put forward to spare Iraq the expected damage from the difficult days, especially after the return of ISIS attacks and suicide attacks. Five are: for the internal arena to be united, for the unity of Iraq to be unified, for unity and for the political forces’ differences to be in propositions and state administration, and not to sacrifice the future of Iraq. And that everyone should make sure that Iraq is strong, because its strength from the inside makes others fear it. "[/rtl]
[rtl]The former Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, commented today, Sunday (January 24, 2021), on the change in the US administration, following the departure of former US President Donald Trump, the assumption of his rival from the Democratic Party, Joe Biden, the presidency of the White House, and his relationship with the Middle East and Iraq specifically.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Abadi said, in a press interview, followed by (Baghdad Today), commenting on the Democratic Party’s return to running the White House, saying: “America is a state of institutions, and it is looking for its interests, and the most important thing is to define and defend Iraqi interests in front of any country. I am not optimistic about any change.” .[/rtl]
[rtl]He continued, "The most dangerous is that agreements are adopted at the expense of Iraqi interests. During the era of former President Barack Obama, the" Greater Middle East "strategy was adopted and was partly at the expense of Iraq, and under Trump, the strategy of the" Deal of the Century "was adopted and was also partly at the expense of Iraq. .[/rtl]
[rtl]"What we want is to neutralize Iraq from the conflict of axes, and the government in Iraq must be aware of the seriousness of the stage, and arm itself with will, wisdom and strength to preserve Iraqi interests," Al-Abadi said.[/rtl]
[rtl]Regarding Iraq’s foreign policy, the former prime minister commented by saying that “the ruling equation of 2018 has brought Iraq back to the square of bias, and Iraq has become an open arena for the axes struggle, and despite the current government’s attempts to restore balance, it still has not made a qualitative breakthrough that spares Iraq the disasters of bias, and the government has steps ahead. More daring and courageous, and can restore balance to Iraq’s location to be a strong and attractive regional center.[/rtl]
[rtl]Regarding his expectations regarding the upcoming elections in light of the controversy surrounding them, Al-Abadi said, “We are the first to demand early elections to get out of the crisis, and we refused to postpone them. If the scenario of the 2018 elections were to be repeated, and today we call again to respect the rules of the electoral process and to provide concrete guarantees of its integrity. And broad public participation is our demand, and we are working on it, and the government, parliament, the election commission and the United Nations Mission in Iraq must confirm their seriousness in holding fair elections. It is not possible to predict the extent of the collapse of the political system if the 2018 scenario is repeated.[/rtl]
[rtl]And on the ambition to achieve a new mandate under the premiership and the way to enter the victory coalition in the upcoming elections, Al-Abadi said: “Most likely we will run in the elections without alliances, and we also hope in a political framework for the forces of moderation to adopt a project to save the state, while preserving the privacy of each electoral list, and Al-Abadi was and what He continues to serve the state project, and will work with the good people to lead it from various locations.[/rtl]
