HOSHYAR ZEBARI: THE CLOSURE OF THE US EMBASSY COULD LEAD TO ISOLATING IRAQ FROM THE WORLD

Baghdad-Al-Sharqiya, January 6: Former Foreign Minister and leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, warned that the closure of the US embassy in Baghdad due to the Katyusha bombing could lead to isolating Iraq from the world and placing it in a diplomatic vacuum. Zebari said in an interview with Al-Sharqiya News, presented later.
That if the United States left Iraq, the rest of the European embassies and the United Nations would leave, and that the repercussions would be great on the economy and on the regional conflict between the United States and Iran, Hoshyar Zebari said that Tehran had informed the leaders of its factions in Iraq not to target American interests until the transfer of power in the United States. He added, during the dialogue that Abdul Sami Azzawi held with him, that any conflict between Tehran and Washington will have dangerous repercussions on Iraq.
On the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan region, the leader of the Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, said that it is unreasonable for a delegation to go to Baghdad every month in order to obtain the Kurds' benefits, adding that if the Kurds are partners in Iraq, they cannot seek their rights and a meeting must be held between the forces The political issue is to end this crisis, stressing that the dispute between the region and the center is political par excellence.
