Parliamentary Finance: The budget frightened the citizen, and withholding salaries included retirees

Time: 12/31/2020 22:34:54
{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed, on Thursday evening, that the federal budget for 2021 terrified the citizen, while it revealed the inclusion of retirees with deductions.
"The 2021 budget has terrified the Iraqi citizen, and the defect lies in mismanagement, a lack of a database, and the assignment of incompetent leaders," said Majida Al-Tamimi, a member of the committee, in a televised interview.
She added that "the budget included borrowing from 17 parties to secure electricity and with a sovereign guarantee. The reason for the energy deterioration is corruption in contracts, and the House of Representatives has someone that."
Al-Tamimi also referred to "the budget violation of the tax law in deductions for retirees' salaries," indicating "the value of the dinar has decreased for the employee, and certainly the deduction will affect him directly."
As she stressed, "the importance of supporting the ration card with a good food basket for the Iraqi citizen, after the Ministry of Trade failed to provide the ration for citizens and this file is tainted by corruption."
Al-Tamimi also indicated that "the spending is mostly fake and the defect in the administration and the database; but the House of Representatives will reconsider the employee deductions and start from 750 thousand dinars as a minimum instead of 550 thousand dinars."
"The Oversight Bureau presented the parliament with a list of the names of ministries and departments that have refrained from making their final accounts since 2010, and the parliament has not received the final accounts since 2012," she said.
Al-Tamimi indicated that "the salaries of employees in the Shiite and Sunni endowments amounted to a trillion and a half trillion dinars," likely to face the 2021 budget, "a lot of problems within the House of Representatives."
