The Minister of Finance chairs the meeting of the Board of Directors of the State Employees Retirement Fund

On Sunday, November 29, 2020, Minister of Finance, Dr. Ali Abdul-Amir Allawi chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the State Employees Retirement Fund in its seventh session, which was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance.


Where the meeting discussed a number of issues related to the reality of the Fund and the mechanisms to improve its level of work to serve the retirement segment.


The Minister of Finance affirmed the necessity of the trend towards diversifying the Fund’s investments in vital strategic areas and engaging the private sector to ensure the sustainability of these funds and to fulfill its long-term commitments.


The Minister of Finance, Ali Abdul Amir Allawi, referred to the importance of undertaking the required reforms in the Fund's work in line with the financial and economic reform process included in the white paper.


The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors of the State Employees Retirement Fund represented by Miss Taif Sami, Director General of the Budget and Acting Deputy Minister of Finance, Professor Muhammad Hamza Mustafa, Director General of the Legal Department, Professor Ayad Mahmoud Hadi, Chairman of the National Pension Authority, Nizar Nasser Hussein, General Director of the Central Bank, and Professor Abdul Halim Fahim Al-Farhoud, Director General at the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Bilal Ismail Abdel Hamid, Director General at the Ministry of Planning, and Mr. Ali Jaafar Muhammad, Director General at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
