(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The economist Haider Abdullah said, Tuesday, that Iraq faces two options to get out of the current financial crisis and to end the suffering of deflation.

Abdullah said {to Euphrates News} that "there are official debts on Iraq with numbers and records, and what matters to us from the issue is foreign affairs that are always conditional and affect the next generation, the budget and production factors."

"When negotiating loans, the concerned parties are supposed to request the World Bank to find investment opportunities to pay off the borrowed debt and interest," he added.

Abdullah also stressed, the need for Iraq to "review the restructuring of internal economic legislation and the introduction of special laws to support domestic investment."

He continued, "Iraq's debt is large and it needs 5 trillion dinars to pay the salaries of employees per month, whose numbers range from {6500-7} million people, and some of them receive double salaries. If we do the private sector, we may overcome a large part of the problem."

And Abdullah said, "It is not supposed to rely on oil only to supplement the budget and to rely on other resources."

He suggested, "Iraq resorting to changing the stage by changing the exchange and printing of the local currency and providing facilities by loans and the concerned departments," stressing, "printing currency or lowering the currency rate are two options for reform, and if we expand financially, we will leave the financial contraction that we are suffering."
