A member of the Parliamentary Communications Committee, Alaa al-Rubaie, confirmed, on Wednesday, that Parliament will oblige the Kurdistan government to sell the region’s oil through the Sumo company, while noting that the revenues of mobile phone and Internet companies can provide the necessary funds to overcome the economic crisis.

Al-Rubaie said in a post on his Facebook page, today (November 11, 2020) followed by Digital Media NTT, that Kurdish blocs did not enter the parliament session and deliberately broke the quorum, indicating that Kurdistan oil is sold through the region and this is a constitutional violation. Clear and he must abide by Sumo controls.

He added, "Parliament will oblige the regional government to sell oil through SOMO and pay its dues to Baghdad."

He pointed out that "the revenues of mobile phone companies are one of the best revenues for the state," stressing "the Al-Kazemi government's insistence on renewing mobile phone contracts because of the political influence of these companies."

He explained that "mobile phone companies owe a lot of money and did not pay taxes and were not held accountable by the government," noting that "the dues of mobile phone companies and the Internet were lost because of the corrupt in the state."

He concluded by saying that "revenues from the mobile phone and the Internet can provide the necessary funds for the state and cover the current crisis."

Sincerely !! Since the new government is in place, a lot of change is happening now, in a few months a lot has been done with this government, especially with the difference between other governments since 2003 !! I can't wait to see the start of 2021, except that I'm giving myself a lousse, until spring to see a change !!

Yes I am quite certain that it is a longshot the GOI will ever see the money owed to them by the mobile companies. If they want to keep their license, they may give a certain percentage back. Still doubtful.  coffee Looking forward to seeing positive change as well.
