The Iraqi-Saudi Political, Security and Military Committee holds its meeting
The Political, Security and Military Committee of the Saudi Iraqi Coordination Council held its meeting, headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein on the Iraqi side and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the Saudi side by video communication and in the presence of the committee members. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of: The two sides discussed the issues on the committee’s agenda, in a way that enhances the development of joint cooperation between the two countries and in various fields, and the two sides agreed on the following:
- Continuing cooperation and coordination in political, security and military issues.
- Work to develop a common vision of the most important issues of concern to the two countries in various fields.
- Providing support To open the Commercial Attaché of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Baghdad. Expediting the opening of the Arar border crossing, due to its importance in enhancing trade cooperation between the two countries. Facilitating procedures for granting entry visas to businessmen in both countries. Study the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding to exempt holders of diplomatic, service and special passports from entry visas for both countries, except for the Hajj season. Consultation and coordination regarding mutual support in international forums.
- Strengthening security and intelligence cooperation with regard to combating crime and smuggling.
- To speed up the signing of a memorandum of understanding for security between the ministries of interior in both countries. Cooperation in the fieldsMilitary Attaché in both countries and exchange training courses and experiences in the field of studies and strategic planning. Continued support for Iraq's efforts, in cooperation with the International Coalition to Combat ISIS terrorist organization.
- Work to develop a common vision towards the issues of the region (the Palestinian issue, Syria, Turkey, Libya, Yemen).
- Securing the protection of the trade route linking the two countries.
She indicated, at the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue cooperation and coordination in various fields, exchange visits, and continue holding the committee emanating from the Council in a way that enhances
bilateral cooperation and achieves the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two countries.

The Iraqi-Saudi Political, Security and Military Committee held a meeting, at the conclusion of which it agreed on 13 items, including facilitating procedures for granting entry visas to businessmen in both countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Rudaw Media Network received a copy of, today, Monday (November 9, 2020) that the political, security and military committee of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council held its meeting, headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein on the Iraqi side and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the Saudi side, by video communication and in the presence of the committee members
The two sides discussed issues on the committee's agenda, in a way that enhances the development of joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and the two sides agreed on the following:
Continued cooperation and coordination on political, security and military issues.
- Work to develop a common vision of the most important issues of concern to the two countries in various fields.
Providing support for the opening of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Commercial Attaché in Baghdad.
Expediting the opening of the Arar border crossing, because of its importance in promoting trade cooperation between the two countries.
Facilitating procedures for granting entry visas to businessmen in both countries.
Studying the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding to exempt holders of diplomatic, service and special passports from entry visas for both countries, except for the Hajj season.
Consultation and coordination regarding mutual support in international forums.
- Strengthening security and intelligence cooperation with regard to combating crime and smuggling.
- To speed up the signing of a memorandum of understanding for security between the ministries of interior in both countries.
- Cooperation in the military fields by holding joint exercises within the framework of a memorandum of understanding concluded between the two countries in the military field, opening military attachés in both countries and exchanging training courses and experiences in the field of studies and strategic planning.
Continued support for Iraq's efforts in cooperation with the International Coalition to Combat ISIS.
- Work to develop a common vision towards the issues of the region (the Palestinian issue, Syria, Turkey, Libya, Yemen).
Securing the protection of the trade route connecting the two countries.

Arar (Arabic: عرعر ʿArʿar [ˈʕarʕar]) is a border crossing between Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The nearest town in Saudi Arabia is Arar (ʿArʿar) and the nearest in Iraq is An Nukhayb. The crossing has barracks for Iraqi border guards, a mosque, and offices for processing people crossing the border. The crossing sees a huge spike in traffic during the Hajj as Iraqis cross into Saudi Arabia to visit Mecca.

Iraqi official: The opening of the Arar border crossing with Saudi Arabia next week

Mubasher: The Secretary-General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, set today, Monday, the date for the opening of the Arar border crossing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The spokesman for the secretariat, Haider Majid, said, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers confirmed that the opening of the Arar border crossing during the next week, after the completion of the rehabilitation process, and the resumption of trade exchange between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
Majeed added, according to Al-Ghazzi, that the rehabilitation process included the establishment of trade exchange and electronic portals.
Majeed explained that the meeting of the Coordination Council between the Iraqi and Saudi sides for tomorrow, via the closed-circuit television, will include discussing what has been discussed of the sub-committees emanating from the Council, signing it, approving it and turning it from paper to reality.
The spokesman for the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers indicated that a number of stalled vital projects in Iraq, which have reached advanced completion rates, will be funded through the Kuwait International Conference in Support of Iraq, and will be funded by the Saudi side.
He pointed out that a branch of the Iraqi Commercial Bank will be opened in Saudi Arabia, stressing that the agreements will contribute to the development of the Iraqi economy and expansion in all fields, which will contribute to attracting competencies and manpower.
Yesterday, Sunday, a Saudi ministerial delegation headed by the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli, began an official visit to the Republic of Iraq.
