Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Finance announced its support for the thesis of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to ward off the economic deficit, which was published through his official Twitter account.
The ministry’s media office said in a statement that “progress” received a copy of it, that “the ministry welcomed the proposal of Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr, as it was compatible with the vision of the Prime Minister, on which the White Paper was based, and adopted by the Ministry of Finance and Government, in order to advance the reality of the Iraqi economy and develop its productive capabilities. In the agricultural, industrial, service and other sectors, for the purpose of bridging the economic deficit and supporting investment in Iraq.
The Ministry of Finance called on all political blocs to “join forces and invest in Al-Sadr’s thesis to vote on the white paper because it was designed to reform the management of the financial situation in light of the current financial crisis. Accordingly, the Domestic and Foreign Borrowing Law No. 5 of 2020 aims to restructure the Iraqi economy to face the coming challenges.

Baghdad Today - Baghdad The Ministry of Finance announced today, Saturday, 7/11/2020, its support for the thesis of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to ward off the economic deficit, which was published through his official Twitter account.
The ministry’s media office said in a statement that “the ministry welcomed the proposal of Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr, as it came in line with the vision of the Prime Minister, on which the White Paper was based, and adopted by the Ministry of Finance and Government, in order to advance the reality of the Iraqi economy and develop its productive capacities in the agricultural, industrial and service sectors. And others for the purpose of bridging the economic deficit and supporting investment in Iraq.
" The Ministry of Finance called on all political blocs to "join efforts and invest Al-Sadr's thesis to vote on the white paper because it was designed to reform the management of the financial situation in light of the current financial crisis, and detailed the solutions necessary to achieve financial reform and improve the performance of financial institutions at the medium and long levels, and put forward an economic reform program that was set up." It was stipulated by the Domestic and Foreign Borrowing Law No. 5 of 2020, with the aim of restructuring the Iraqi economy to face the coming challenges.
Earlier, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, commented on the borrowing bill, which the House of Representatives will read today, a second reading.
Al-Sadr stated in a tweet on the "Twitter" platform, that "some people are trying to borrow and borrow from inside and outside in order to bridge the economic deficit, so to speak, or to fill the salaries of employees, which are in urgent need of organization, trim and scrutiny to remove aliens, people with multiple salaries and those with excess positions." And so on. "
He added, "borrowing will increase the deterioration of the Iraqi currency and exacerbate the economic crisis. Yes, my words will hurt some people, but I am used to frankness."
He continued, saying: "From here I will present some theses that are more successful and faster than borrowing and placing Iraq in the furnace of debt, dependency and political pressure."
Al-Sadr listed the theses as follows:
First: The collection of wages for water, electricity and other services, provided that they fall under any trustee.
Second: Facilitating Iraqi bank loans for those with middle and large projects to implement their projects, with the government participating with a share of it for the facilities it provides.
Third: Developing agricultural work in Iraq through distributing lands to specialists to cultivate them and take shares from them. Therefore, other benefits do not hide.
Fourth: Privatizing some public sectors, even for a specific period, to revive them and restore their production, such as the industrial and agricultural sectors, or otherwise.
Fifthly: Exposing and holding accountable the names of the spoilers who lost Iraq’s wealth in years prior to their whims, parties, and the like, through the honest Iraqi judiciary and recovering the money stolen from them.
Sixth: Taking out the occupation that has harmed and is still leading to the loss of Iraq and the payment of billions for its phantom protection of Iraqi lands.
Seventh: Examining the Chinese agreement and making it in safe hands is better than resorting to other shameful agreements.
Eighth: Protecting Iraqi banks and banks is security on the one hand and from the corrupt on the other hand, stopping the financial pumping out of Iraq and organizing the work of the Central Bank.
Ninth: Serious and diligent work in order to benefit from the wealth stored in Iraq .. I do not mean only oil, but there are other wealth that must be invested away from the hands of corruption.
Tenth: Collecting taxes, customs duties and the like through safe hands instead of their falling into the hands of the corrupt.
Eleventh: Protecting and encouraging investors through possible financial support and moral support as well.
Twelfth: Organizing the scale of salaries, codifying and liquidating them, and working on organizing pensions.
Thirteenth: Ensure that reviews of state departments and services provided to citizens are electronic to prevent rampant corruption.
Fourteenth: Oil is the biggest wealth, so it must be protected, the corrupt should be kept away from it, and the export of that wealth must be regulated and its imports returned to the state exclusively.
Fifteenth: Invest in the tourism sector in all its forms in an effective and fruitful manner.
Sixteenth: An agreement between the central government and the Kurdistan region on all outstanding financial problems, including the oil extracted in the region.

The Ministry of Finance confirms its support for the thesis of Mr. Muqtada Al-Sadr to prevent the economic deficit, which was published on his official Twitter account.
This thesis came in line with the vision of the Prime Minister, on which the white paper was based, and adopted by the Ministry of Finance and the Government, in order to advance the reality of the Iraqi economy and develop its productive capabilities in the agricultural, industrial, service and other sectors in order to bridge the economic deficit and support investment in Iraq.
