Economy News - Baghdad

The president of Siemens, Joe Kaiser, announced that the deficit in Iraqi electricity is 9 gigawatts.

Kaiser said in an interview with CNBC Arabi, seen by "Al-Eqtisad News", "We agreed with Iraq to work in 3 phases. The first stage is under design and includes fifth generation services and others and works to make the most of the current electrical stations, and the second stage increases production capacity by 4." Gigawatts, and the last stage in the long run includes utilizing the gas emitted during oil production to run the power stations.

He added that there are a lot of good intentions, and the size of the shortage in Iraq is 8-9 gigawatts, but Iraq suffers from the great disparity in the interests of the countries surrounding it, and this keeps Iraq very busy and sometimes feels anxious about implementing the energy agenda in a strong and decisive manner, as Egypt did.
