The Media Office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated: "The Parliamentary Committee for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, under the auspices of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives and the presence of Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, held its first public conference to activate the tourism sector in Iraq and last for one day."

And he participated in the conference, which was held under the slogan "For a prosperous Iraq to advance the tourism sector", organized directly by the Parliamentary Culture Committee headed by Representative Samia Ghalab, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nazim, and the Hotels Association in Iraq and relevant authorities.

Al-Kaabi explained during the conference that "the tourism sector would have constituted an important support for the economy, if it had been used in a scientifically studied manner by the relevant authorities, especially since Iraq is the focus of attention of the whole world, whether in religious or recreational tourism and others."

He stressed the need to reconsider all previous plans and strategies related to tourism in Iraq and start with a modern and fast plan that among its priorities is to give experts, whether local, Arab or foreign, an opportunity to contribute to this giant project, and the goal is to reduce dependence on oil and start relying on other sectors, the most important of which is tourism. .

The conference concluded with the necessity of restructuring tourism institutions and sectors, investing new experiences, adopting a new strategy and a scientific vision for the development of staff, establishing partnership with tourism organizations and institutions and Arab and regional bodies expert in this field, as well as supporting colleges and departments that graduate specialized students, encouraging the association of travel and tourism companies and supporting local investment And the foreigner and the invitation of banks to provide support to investors in this sector, especially the Hotel Association in Iraq.
