On Tuesday, the Joint Operations Command announced the results of the Kanous Island operations.

The leadership said in a statement that Alsumaria News received, a copy of which, "The joint security forces in charge of the duty to inspect the island of Kanous were able to completely cleanse it after distinguished efforts that continued for 8 days."

She added, "The operation resulted in the destruction of 12 terrorist camps and the seizure of 5 warehouses of weapons, ammunition and foodstuffs."  And she continued, "The Army Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations were on the ground in the process of completing the purification of this island, which is a great victory added to the travel of the victories of our heroic security forces, after the sources of terrorism and its financing between the provinces of Nineveh, Salah al-Din and Kirkuk have dried up."

And she emphasized that "ISIS will not remain a safe place in the land of Iraq thanks to the brave formations of the security services that have devoted their lives to provide security and safety and prevent the attempts of terrorist elements to threaten and blackmail citizens."
