Iraq .. Determine the expected date for the approval of the fiscal deficit law in preparation for the distribution of salaries - urgent
Baghdad Today - Baghdad
The Finance Committee in the House of Representatives revealed that it will hold meetings with the government to reduce the amount of new loans, warning against repeatedly linking salary distribution to the Fiscal Deficit Financing Law, which confirmed that its approval will not take place before the beginning of next week.
Committee member Jamal Cougar said, in a statement followed by (Baghdad Today), "The House of Representatives finished the first reading of the draft law on financing the fiscal deficit, which was previously sent by the government, and in its clauses, loans amounting to 41 trillion dinars."
And Cougar continued, "The legislative mechanisms require that the second reading be after a period of time not less than three days, to give the opportunity for MPs to present opinions before the relevant committee."
He pointed out that "serious discussions will bring us together with the government in the coming days regarding the project, as we are fully convinced that the numbers presented are very large, and the need is much less."
Cougar pointed out, "The committee will also meet with leaders of political blocs, MPs and relevant committees, in order to reach the actual need for the loan."
He explained, "The legislative mechanisms impose on us that, if the minimum limit of times is adhered to, the voting process will obtain a bill for financing the fiscal deficit law early next week."
Cougar went on to say that "the House of Representatives will pass the law, but according to the actual need of the Iraqi state in terms of expenditures after studying them well, and in light of what we achieve in terms of oil and non-oil revenues."
