Today, Thursday, the Integrity Commission affirmed that Iraq is keen to approve the National Strategy and the National Index of Integrity and Anti-Corruption.
According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), a statement issued by the media of the Integrity Commission stated that "Judge Alaa Jawad Hamid, head of the Integrity Commission, represented Iraq in the discussions that took place via closed-circuit television with the United Nations Development Program, (UNDP)."
He added, "Hamid stressed the Iraqi government's keenness to expedite the approval of the national strategy and the National Index of Integrity and Anti-Corruption for the next four years, in line with the international standards and principles emanating from the UN Convention against Corruption."
The statement continued, "The authority is working to implement the national strategy after enriching it with practical recommendations, obtaining the required approvals, and working on its approval by the Council of Ministers."
