The representative health and environment committee in the Iraqi parliament has set the date for the approval of the health insurance law in the parliament.
According to a statement by a member of the committee, Representative Ghayeb Al-Amiri, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Thursday, that after a series of meetings, discussions and conferences, a final version of the health insurance law has been reached, pointing out that there is a consensus between Parliament and the government on the law.

He added that the House of Representatives voted on most of the articles of the law, likely approval in the parliament session that follows the voting session on the election law.
He pointed out that the health insurance law will serve the poor and middle classes of society, stressing that if it is properly implemented, it will make a qualitative leap in the health situation in Iraq.
It is worth noting that the Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives had decided, earlier, to postpone the vote on the proposed health insurance law.
