Baghdad / NINA / Today, Wednesday, the G20 countries announced the extension of the initiative to suspend the payment of debt service for the world's poorest countries for an additional 6 months, until June 2021.
The group said on Twitter: The finance ministers and central bank governors of the group agreed during their meeting this evening to extend the initiative of the Group The 20th to suspend debt service payments for an additional period of 6 months extending until the end of June 2021, with the aim of supporting the poorest countries in combating the Corona pandemic.
Today, Wednesday, the finance ministers and central bank governors of the G20 held video talks hosted by Saudi Arabia, the current chair of the G20, to stimulate the path of global recovery from the recession caused by the emerging Corona virus, and the possibility of extending the exemption for the affected poor countries.
It is noteworthy that the International Monetary Fund has warned that global GDP will shrink by 4.4% this year, and that the damage caused by the epidemic will continue for years. / End 3
