Iraq has approved plans to build its largest tourism and business city in the capital Baghdad within a post-war reconstruction and development programme, the official Alsabah newspaper reported on Sunday.

The 132,000-sq-metre project in Al-Dawra area comprises tourism facilities, a 26-storey hotel, trade and financial centres, libraries and a fun city, it said, quoting chairman of Baghdad Investment Commission Shakir Al-Zamli.

He said the Commission has just awarded the project to a local company, which will start work soon despite the spread of Coronavirus. Zamli did not mention project costs or the date of its completion.
